RTG | Games of the Year 2017

Editorials, Reviews

So here we are at the end of 2017 and this has been undoubtedly an incredible (and occasionally dodgy) year for gaming. We have seen the indisputable return of Nintendo as a world power, the rise of the loot box with the fall of EA (again), and the spark of genius that was the first double-A game release. Needless to say, this has been a journey of a year. But, what would I consider to be my favourites out of the many releases we have seen?

A little clean up before I start this list off. Firstly, this will be a ranking of my Top Five in ascending order with the game at the bottom of the list being, essentially, my ultimate Game of 2017. Secondly, please remember that this is my personal list and therefore if you have your own thoughts please let me know in the comments or on Twitter, but as it is my list it cannot be (and is not) “wrong” by any definition of the word. RTG | Site Update #3

Editorials

I thought, with the various changes that I have made over the past few weeks and the changes I am intending to make, that another update on the various things I do was well overdue. It’s my aim, over the following months, to grow my community by shifting times and my content around so that I can fully cater to the audience I already have and increase the potential for others to find the stuff I do. EGX 2017 | Friday Highlights

Events

How about my next report of Eurogamer Expo 2017? There were a lot of games, a lot of gamers and a lot of queues, but the event was a huge success for me this year with a lot to see and love. Although there was a tremendous amount of empty space on the showfloor, this really did help on this day due to the sharp increase in attendees. But, more importantly, how were the games? A quick note, I’ll only be covering non-Nintendo games in this article, if you wanted to see my thoughts on Nintendo’s showing, it was posted on Nintendo Scene and can now be found on here as well.

EGX 2017 | Thursday Highlights

Events

Eurogamer Expo 2017 has been and gone for me (I only went on the Thursday and Friday this year). A lot of games, a lot of gamers and a lot of queues, but a huge success for me this year with a lot to see and love. Although there was a tremendous amount of empty space on the showfloor, this really did help on the busier Friday with getting around. But, more importantly, how were the games? A quick note, I’ll only be covering non-Nintendo games in this article, if you wanted to see my thoughts on Nintendo’s showing, it’s on Nintendo Scene.
